Peacockery

  • 4 x 3.5 x 2″tall

Peacockery was formed over a heavy glass ball, so it’s got a lovely rounded shape. It’s slightly thicker than my other bowls.

Chopt

  • 3.5″ diameter x 1.5″ tall
  • Technique: finely chopped and reformed, sanded smooth

I make a lot of Ornaments using white polymer and acrylic paints. Chopt was made with some of the scrap from a production run of ornaments.

Summer Solstice

  • 2.75″ diameter x 1″ tall

Water Way

Kintsugi

  • 4″ diameter x 1.5″ tall
  • Technique: mokume gane top and bottom, sanded smooth; bottom enhanced with gold acrylic paint

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The pattern on the bottom of this bowl crackled when I rolled it out, so I enhanced those surface cracks with gold acrylic paint.

Curved Blues

I especially love the pattern on the bottom. It’s made from the bottom of the stack of mokume; I call it a ghost pattern.

Black White Red

  • 3.5″ diameter x 1.25″ tall
  • Technique: mokume gane top and bottom, sanded smooth; textured edge

Black and white and complex on the inside, black, red, and white circles on the bottom side, joined by a textured strip of red, making a nice contract to the smoothness of the bowl.

Bubble Bath
